A Heroine’s Journey through Cancer to Wholeness

Lady of The Lake, Rise is about the mythic underworld journey of initiation I experienced while healing through stage three breast cancer as I was simultaneously training as a Priestess of Avalon, a tradition rooted in the land of Glastonbury, U.K. There is Goddess lore and mythology woven throughout, and I parallel my experience with the myth of ancient Sumerian Goddess Inanna and her descent into the underworld. The first half of the book, "The Descent” describes what I was stripped of as I dropped down through the seven gateways. The second half, "The Ascent", details what I reclaimed, as I ascended. The storytelling is not in chronological order, but fluid, expansive, and multidimensional, exemplifying the spiraling energy of the heroine's journey. I know my story will inspire readers and transform the way they relate to illness and hardship in their lives.
